Who We Are

Our Collective Trauma and Healing (OCTAH) is a mental health education and wellness platform rooted in community, faith, and accountability.

About OCTAH

We were created to meet people where they are, especially those who have historically been excluded from meaningful mental health conversations and to offer tools, language, and spaces that make healing feel accessible, honest, and human.

At OCTAH, we believe healing is not linear, perfection is not the goal, and awareness without action is incomplete. We center real-life experiences, culturally relevant conversations, and practical strategies that help people move forward, not just feel seen for a moment.

We Exist To

Our Mission

Our mission is to increase access to mental health education, normalize emotional wellness, and build community-centered spaces for healing, with a strong focus on underserved and marginalized communities, particularly the Black community.

What We Do

Signature Events & Experiences
Including our annual Octah Brunch Experience (OBX)—a curated gathering that blends mental health dialogue, wellness, creativity, faith, and connection.
Workshops, panels, and conversations that break down complex mental health topics into language people can actually use.
Intentional environments where people are encouraged to pause, be honest, and feel supported—without pressure to perform or have it all together.
We honor storytelling, art, spoken word, and faith as valid and powerful pathways to healing.

Our Approach

We ask real questions. We sit with discomfort. We make room for growth.
